Chapter 876: The Social Butterfly Damian Knight
Chapter 876: The Social Butterfly Damian Knight
In the classroom, Summer Monroe answered her classmates’ questions one by one.
Suddenly, her phone rang. It was a call from Damian Knight.
She stood up apologetically and said, "Sorry, I have to head home now. I’ll share the rest of the answers later. Everyone should focus on preparing for tomorrow morning’s college English exam. We already finished the advanced math one, so let’s not worry about it anymore."
The classmates nodded, embarrassed to disturb her any further, and began to leave Summer’s seat.
Summer called out to Holly Holloway, who hadn’t been able to squeeze into the crowd earlier. Now she finally had a chance to talk to Summer and said somewhat regretfully, "What should I do? I think I only got six of the multiple-choice questions right."
"It’s okay." Summer pinched Holly’s chubby cheeks and said, "This test was indeed very challenging. See? Even I didn’t submit it early. I finished writing the last big question just two minutes before the exam ended."
Holly: "..."
She, who only completed three of the big questions, didn’t feel comforted at all.
"Let’s go." Summer pinched Holly’s cheeks again and said, "Thanks to your reminder about today’s exam. Let me treat you to dinner, and I’ll also help you guess some questions for tomorrow’s English exam."
Holly’s eyes immediately lit up.
"Guess the questions?"
"Shh." Summer made a shushing gesture, "Let’s talk about it after we go out."
Holly quickly nodded and walked with Summer towards the school gate.
When the two of them reached the entrance, they saw a crowd gathered at the gate.
Holly asked curiously, "Is there a celebrity here?"
Summer shook her head, "Probably not a celebrity."
"Then who is it?"
"Maybe a dandy butterfly."
Summer, smiling faintly, pulled Holly along past the crowd and walked forward.
Sure enough, she saw Damian Knight, dressed in a suit, leaning against his car door waiting for her.
Damian was on the phone with a serious expression. It wasn’t until Summer approached that he smiled, ended the call, and said, "Finished the exam?"
Summer nodded and said, "I want to take Holly to Luna Restaurant for dinner."
Damian glanced at Holly beside Summer, his expression unreadable, and nodded, "Sure, get in the car."
"Get in." Summer opened the backseat door, and she and Holly sat in the back.
Damian hesitated to speak, and finally had to cancel the reservation at the fancy restaurant he had booked, and got into the driver’s seat to drive.
—He felt like he had become a tool.
The three soon arrived at Luna Restaurant.
After ordering, Holly couldn’t help but ask, "Sadie, were you serious about guessing the questions in the classroom?"
"Of course," Summer nodded, "I’m pretty good at predicting exam questions. After doing the advanced math paper, I have a rough idea of the questions direction this time..."
The two started discussing the exam papers as if no one else was around, with Damian unable to get a word in.
Finally, when the dishes were served, the two stopped talking.
Damian finally had a chance to speak. He glanced at Holly and asked, "Holly, do you have a boyfriend?"
Holly’s hand holding the chopsticks froze, and her cheeks turned visibly red.
"I guess not," Damian said wistfully, "I’ve got a lot of great connections. Want me to introduce someone to you? Or do you prefer someone familiar? How about Ronan Kingston?"
Holly’s face turned even redder. She sat there dumbfounded, unable to speak.
Seeing this, Summer glared angrily at Damian and said, "We’re talking about the exam, why bring that up? Holly, don’t mind him, let’s eat. I own this restaurant and I think the food is pretty good."
Holly stiffly nodded, not daring to look at Damian anymore, and focused on eating her meal.
