Chapter 1218 - 1216: Be Proactive in Life

Chapter 1218 - 1216: Be Proactive in Life

The entire world uses the common language, though some regions might have a local accent, like the arrogant accent of the Gafura people, who add some nasal sounds when they pronounce words.

This gives the impression that when they speak, they must have their noses in the air!

The Federation people also have their own accent, as this country is a great melting pot, where almost every race in the world can be found, making the Federation accent more crisp, simple, and efficient.

Of course, some long-established countries secretly mock the Federation accent as a "rural accent," saying only country folks speak so straightforwardly.

Nobles should use some elegant intonations or pronunciations to showcase the traits of superior nations.

However, Federation people don’t care, as sometimes they are more pragmatic.

Too many affixes might not express things too crisply; mimicking the Federation’s way of speaking is quite simple—just be straightforward.

Don’t add those intonations or pronunciation methods that might identify your status, and it’s simple and efficient.

A few soldiers with guns swiftly infiltrated the base; their goal was to locate the command post and see if they could eliminate the Commander first.

Thanks to the Federation’s trait of selling anything as long as there’s money to be made, Peng Jieao’s military managed to acquire unranked Federation Army uniforms and corresponding standard weapons right from the stores as soon as tensions rose between the two sides.

This tactic had been used many times and was very practical.

The Federation Army’s uniform changeover spanned a long time, and with not particularly serious wear and tear, the Military Industrial Group often produced extra non-standard weapons when manufacturing weapons for the army in order to vie for orders.

These weapons were mostly modified with some parts, making them far less "lethal" and somewhat more complex to operate compared to standard rifles.

From appearance alone, these guns showed no difference from standard rifles, and even the designer might not immediately spot the differences between two guns.

This allowed these people to roam freely in the camp with nobody questioning their identity.

"Over there is the Darkstone Security area..."

These people looked towards the Darkstone Security camp simultaneously. Darkstone Security was internationally renowned, with many viewing it as the Federation Army’s disguise and a way of actively exploring external responses.

The group quickly withdrew their gaze, continuing to move forward in the camp.

People greeted them along the way, and they reciprocated the greetings.

"They are optimistic, not nervous at all; I feel something is off," one of them remarked.

In every encounter with enemies, those foes were always deadly nervous, unlike now, where smiles graced their faces with no sign of tension.

The leading soldier remained silent for a while, saying, "Maybe it’s just how they are..."

Over an hour later, as they saw densely appearing officers from aerial shots not far away, a few soldiers could barely contain their excitement.

They carried explosives with them, and by elevating those officers to the skies, whether they lived or died, they would gain unimaginable glory, with their families benefiting greatly as well.

Additionally, they weren’t necessarily doomed to die.

They didn’t need to blow up those officers in front of everyone; they could set up a delayed fuse, allowing the bomb to explode once they reached a safe place, thereby reducing the danger.

Just as they were approaching the area, someone suddenly called out to them.

"You over there..."

A Major, flanked by two soldiers, looked at them with some suspicion. With just one glance at the group, the Major felt something amiss.

Uniform?

No issue, it was the standard new military uniform.

Weapons?

No issue either; brand-new weapons.

The accessories on their armor belt?

Also seemed fine, so where was this feeling of incongruence coming from?

He had been observing the four for about ten seconds, and the moment he called out to them, the synchronized way these four turned around made the Major’s scalp tingle slightly.

Too neat; he knew the Federation Army better than anyone!

If these were Federation soldiers, their turn wouldn’t be this uniform; inconsistency in actions was a characteristic of Federation people.

Typically, the leader would approach proactively, asking if there was a problem, but these individuals just stood there, behaving like... elite forces.

This was unbelievable; the Federation never had such elite ground forces!

Instinctively, the Major advanced a couple of steps, inspecting these men, and ordered his adjutant, "Check their identification..."

His adjutant stepped forward, hand outstretched, waiting for them to hand over their credentials, only to see a glint of cold steel.

The next second, a dagger plunged from beneath his jaw directly into his skull; a Peng Jieao man disguised as a Federation soldier shot the Major after drawing a gun, while two others hooked up explosives and hurled them towards the nearby camp.

The sudden burst of gunfire and explosions completely stunned the soldiers inside the base.

What’s happening?

This was probably the only thought in their minds. They didn’t even consider it dangerous, just thinking it might be an accidental discharge, not believing anyone could sneak in.

The explosions alerted those on the Darkstone Security side, and they immediately went into combat mode. Meanwhile, some mortar shells unexpectedly landed in the artillery position from the nearby forest, the sounds of explosions and gunfire completely overshadowing the clamor within the enemy camp for a moment.

The group considered by the Federation as the enemy’s main force also quickly took action; they aimed to break the defense with pincer movements from inside and out.

The bombers at the rear took off immediately, and as they flew over the river channel, some equipment that had been covered with canvas in Peng Jieao’s marching line revealed their true nature.

These were not the cannons imagined by the Federation people, but anti-aircraft guns, and these anti-aircraft guns promptly went into action.

The loud shooting sounds vibrated through the dense forest nearby, causing a large number of birds to fly up into the air, circling and unwilling to leave or land.

These birds suddenly taking to the air also caused great trouble for the bombers trying to take out part of the enemy with initial bombings.

The propellers frequently collided with the birds, and some planes even lost power and disintegrated due to hitting some large birds with their propellers, crashing down!

More than ten days of calm was shattered in an instant!

The Peng Jieao people were well aware of the suppression by aircraft on the army; while studying aircraft, they also researched ground equipment to shoot down planes.

Ironically, they didn’t bring much artillery this time, as this operation wasn’t a large-scale group war, and the value and significance of artillery weren’t that great.

The calm was torn apart, and the radio waves over the defense line instantly became more intense.

The Federation people had to prevent the enemies already very close on the mudflats from crossing the defense line while also having to clear out those enemies within.

The cruelty of war was vividly displayed at this moment. No one asked why to shoot or why to counterattack; everyone was fighting instinctively.

The professional skills they had mastered daily quickly turned into survival instincts at this moment, but the opponents were too fierce!

If in the same circumstances, the Gafura’s sailors were their invincible guarantee.

Then in ground warfare, Peng Jieao’s social and military systems, coupled with rigorous training, were their army’s invincible guarantee.

Everyone acted like highly efficient and precise instruments, continuously searching for enemies, aiming, breaking through, advancing!

No one needed to command what they should do, but they all knew what they had to do!

The artillery positions were destroyed immediately. The bombardments were not to bomb those odd shapes but to blow up the artillery ammunition.

Explosions of the ammunition became the most terrifying killer of the Federation soldiers, with shrapnel flying everywhere.

As soon as the explosions ended, Peng Jieao’s people in the dense forest began advancing. They adopted a progressive approach, advancing little by little towards the defense line. The speed might not have been fast, but they were always moving forward.

Some fell, but no one cared whether they were alive or dead, with someone else taking over their role to execute the efficient combat method.

The Federation Army was caught off guard and disoriented immediately; this didn’t align with their plans at all.

They had expected to engage in a direct confrontation with the Peng Jieao people, then use their greater number of artillery and bombers to gain a dominant position and drive the Peng Jieao people out!

But this was only an idealized notion, and reality didn’t give them a chance to breathe.

After Peng Jieao’s people cleared the artillery positions, what lay next for them was the multinational forces and the Darkstone Security personnel.

The Gafura’s Military Observation team had hidden in fear, shivering, recalling the landing battle from a few years ago.

With almost no way or ability to change anything, they were sent back to the sea and into the arms of gods by the Peng Jieao people.

They were back again!

The Major General immediately reported the sneak attack situation back to the Strategic Command, and the battleship group docked outside the Nagariel offshore started moving. They had to quickly cut off the Horn Strait’s transport channel, sever Peng Jieao’s supply routes, and apply pressure to the areas occupied by Peng Jieao.

Simultaneously, more soldiers were boarding ships at the Federation’s port; this battle may have escalated into a "war"!

For the Federation’s Ministry of the Army, war must be won.

Lynch also received word that Peng Jieao’s people had bypassed the frontline defenses and attacked from the flanks into the rear.

For such an occurrence... he couldn’t say he had anticipated or guessed it, only expressing regret.

But the specific current situation wasn’t clear yet, and he ordered everyone to focus on defense and not to launch rash attacks.

Just after he hung up, the Ministry of Defense called in.

Currently, the multinational forces were battling the Peng Jieao people who had circled to the rear, and frontal combat had also fully erupted, with the Federation’s most critical main forces on the frontline.

They needed time to retreat, and time was scarce now.

Therefore, the Ministry of Defense hoped Lynch’s Darkstone Security could quickly fill the gap in the defense line that had been torn apart and annihilate the rear-circling enemies!

Possibly fearing Lynch wouldn’t put in enough effort, they even proactively suggested increasing the payment...
